Islamic Student Association

In the spring of 1973, a few Iranian students studying in London Universities started holding regular meetings in their homes and years later the Islamic Students Association was formed. The main purpose of the meetings, was discussions and learning sessions which addressed philosophical and religious topics. After increasing numbers of Iranian Students abroad, in 1976 the association purchased a building for their activities in Hammersmith which is the current centre of the Islamic Students Association in London. Currently this centre provides intellectual and scientific events on various issues with a particular focus on Islam, Iran and Shi’ism. The centre provides the platform for the free expression of ideas and different points of view on numerous subjects such as political, social and international issues.
